Junior French
It is my belief that learning should be active and engaging for the students so I have chosen to incorporate the Accelerative Integrated Methodology (AIM) into my Core French Program. The program, Histoires en Action, is a story-based program that uses gestures as a means to teach comprehension of the French language. The goal is to create a safe environment where students feel confident and successful speaking, reading and writing French. This approach allows students to experience the language kinesthetically, visually, physically, and auditorially, meeting the needs ot all language learners and their learning styles.

Welcome to Intermediate French at Armour Heights!
Histoires en Action, a program which uses gestures as a tool in order to teach French to Core French students, is continuing to be used with all intermediate classes.
If students wish to, they are able to film their play on their own time instead of presenting live. However, I do have certain expectations with this: 1. Every person must be on camera when their character is speaking or present in the scene. 2. Their lines are still expected to be memorized. 3. Voices need to still be heard clearly so that I
can make out pronunciation. 4. Students need to bring their finished DVD in at least THREE DAYS before the plays are due for those who are going live. This gives the students the opportunity to test their DVD on our equipment to ensure that it works. If it doesn't work, this gives them time to go back and try to fix it or to try to find equipment that will run their DVD. 5. Finally, students are still expected to bring all of their "stuff" (props, costumes, etc) for the day of the live presentations. This is because there can still be technical glitches, despite the pre-testing. If that happens on the day of, their group
needs to go present live instead.
